Over time, industrial machinery has become more diverse, complex, and harder to repair. Meanwhile, consumers continue to demand high quality and minimal downtime. This means that the acceleration in all these industrial sectors creates a new need for solutions that can minimize difficulties and work time in repairs and maintenance.

Objective

BlueSquid B.V requires a system that can provide solutions to the increasingly diverse, complex, and difficult-to-repair industrial machinery problems.

Smartfix is a cloud-based application that can be accessed anytime and anywhere through its domain address. Additionally, users can install the application on smartphones, tablets, and desktops and access it offline without being connected to the internet.

This is possible because Smartfix is a PWA (progressive web application), which is a web-based application with the performance and convenience of storing data locally like a native mobile app.

Solution & Impact

Solutions : The Smartfix application was created as a solution to the increasingly diverse, complex, and difficult-to-repair industrial machinery problems. This solution is provided through its features, which include:

  • A database of machines, and various types/models, as well as parts or components of the machines.
  • Storage and downloading of manuals for each machine.
  • Repair steps according to the type and model of various machines, created by mechanics based on their field experience and manuals.
  • A social media platform for mechanics to discuss various repair steps and other activities in the machine repair industry.

Impact : Repairs can be completed more quickly without significant downtime. This is because the database of machines, parts, and their variants, along with manuals that can be accessed and downloaded quickly from the application, directly assists the mechanics in performing repairs.

Various difficulties faced do not take much time because there are already repair steps created by other mechanics who have experienced them. As the application is used, the list of repair steps will continue to grow because each mechanic can save and share them in the application for future use when facing similar problems.

The social aspect for mechanics also shifts positively with the Smartfix application. Mechanics can exchange information and directly ask someone who has experienced the same issue through the app’s features.
